Last updated: 9 July 2026. This is a plain-language draft describing how the Service currently works and is not legal advice — Montoyer should have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer, and confirm its obligations under the GDPR and any other applicable law, before relying on it.
FluoFish Roulette ("the Service") is operated by Montoyer ("we", "us"). We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the game.
What we collect
When you join a game as a player, we store:
- the name (or nickname) you type in — this is chosen by you and does not have to be your real name;
- your device's IP address and browser user-agent string, captured once when you join.
When a round is played, we keep a record of the outcome (which name was picked, when, in which room), together with the IP address and user-agent captured at join time. This round history is kept as an audit log.
We do not ask for or store email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, or any account credentials, because the Service has no accounts.
Why we collect it
- The name is shown to other players so the group knows who's in the room and who was picked.
- The IP address and user-agent are used to operate the game reliably (e.g. detecting who is currently present) and as a basic abuse-prevention and audit measure.
How long we keep it
- Live game data (rooms and the players in them) is temporary and is automatically deleted a short time after a room stops being used — currently around two hours of inactivity.
- The round outcome log is retained longer as an audit record. If you would like a record relating to you removed, contact us (see below).
Cookies
The public game does not use tracking cookies. A single session cookie is used only in the private admin area, which players never see.
Third parties
To deliver the site, your browser loads a few resources from third parties, which may therefore receive your IP address:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) for typography;
- a JavaScript CDN (unpkg.com) for the game's front-end libraries;
- Ahrefs analytics for aggregate, privacy-friendly site statistics.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data relating to you. Because the Service collects so little and deletes live data quickly, most personal data disappears on its own within hours. For anything in the retained round log, contact us.
